I never thought I’d say this, but Shaq made me think today. I was reading my ESPN in the shower this morning (what? don’t you read magazines in the shower?) and read this quote. It’s been ringing in my ears all day so I thought I’d post it up here and give ya’ll a chance to read it too…
“You don’t teach that extra something someone has inside their chest. Leaders come in a variety of ways, but you always can see it when it’s really there. At the end of the day, it’s not just all about you. It’s about your ability to pull the max out of someone else, to inspire them to be all they can be because they are around you. Any true champion at some point has done it.”

Let’s take that last part, “to inspire them to be all they can be because they are around you” and apply that to our walk with Christ. I’ve been asking myself all day, that as a leader in my family and in my church, do I inspire others to love Him more because they’re around me? I don’t think the answer is yes and I will be seeking His word to figure out how I can change that answer.
