I think this is the second time I’ve quoted Shaq on this blog. I’m beginning to wonder about myself, however, I was just watching an interview with him and Steven A Smith on espn.com and he says this (at about the 3 minute point of the video below),

Long time ago, 12 years old, one of my friends stole a car. If I woulda went with him, I wouldn’t be here right now. So, I don’t believe in ifs. Ifs don’t exist…Grew up in New Jersey, Clinton and Abomb, my man said let’s jump in that car. But if I’da went with them it would’ve been a different ballgame all together. Uncle Mike and Jerome woulda had to come put the handcuffs on me. I’da went to a little juvenile home, it would’ve been all different. I don’t believe in ifs.

I don’t believe in ifs either. I know that our Lord has a plan and is sovereign over His creation. However, I allow myself to think about the ifs. Maybe I should take a lesson from Shaq and control those thoughts a little bit more.
