Kellso.com is Back Online
It has been some time since the last time I sat down and really decided to write. I am realizing that in a period when I don’t blog, I don’t think deeply enough about things. So, I’m bringing the blog back (I’ve also had several bugs in my ear asking me to post again, so Dan / Russ, you better read it!). For the next several months, I actually have a plan. I am currently studying or reading a few things and will be posting regularly in response to those.
- I have been over the last year studying the importance of elevating Scripture and submitting to it. I began with an in depth study of 2 Tim 2:14-18 and am carrying that through to other passages. I plan on Tuesdays to post something with relation to this study.
- Jenna and I have a new catch phrase in our house. “I’m sick of this crap”. This crap is sin, so yes…we’re sick of sin. We see it in our lives, in our children and in those close to us and quite frankly, we’re sick of it, we want to see it eliminated and we want to be used by God. On Thursdays, I’m going to post something about sin. It may be a quick tip to deal with specific sins or a passage that spoke to me about sin, I’ll be quite liberal and general in how I use this.
- Books…I haven’t read much extra-Biblically in quite a while. I just finished an ad-hoc reading through the Bible in 4 months plan. It was an amazing experience to see so much of who God is in such a short amount of time. I made two rules for myself in this plan. 1) Nothing but Scripture until I’m done. 2) Reading and not paying attention is not allowed (which forced me to read Ezekiel like 4 times). It was a good time of learning about God and I’m glad I did it. In a matter of days, I was able to see God’s interaction with Israel and was blown away by both His patience for man and His wrath. I also got to see Paul shepherd…truly shepherd. So often I get caught up in the theology of Paul’s writings. Reading all of his letters to the churches in one night (albeit a long night of reading), I was able to see the heart of Paul interacting and caring for people he loved. I saw the transition from his shepherding tactics with the church at Corinth to his tactics with Philippi. What an experience! With all of that said, I am back to reading a lot and am excited to talk about some of that. I’ll be aiming for weekend posts about what I’m reading.
- Lastly, Jman studies. We haven’t been meeting as much lately and I’d like to change that. I’ll be posting on here a response to what we went through and prayer requests for helping me be able to shepherd him.
That’s the plan. I also tend to listen to sermons a lot or just notice things in normal reading that I may post on here as an ad-hoc post, but I’m aiming for organization of schedule to keep me posting and to help.
Thank you all for your feedback on my earlier post. Your encouragement had a direct influence on this blog coming back and I pray that God uses it to be glorified.

This is what’s up. Organization is key to this writing stuff. Not only do you have a plan but it is a good plan. The Thursday idea is great. I’m sure alot of that stuff will find its way onto my Saturday round up. Looking forward to reading along.

I always appreciate your honesty and insight. I look forward to reading your blog as you follow your plan. On average, how long did you have to read per day to finish that 4-month plan?
